A 16th-century Ottoman bridge over the Miljacka that entered world history: at its northern end, on 28 June 1914, Gavrilo Princip shot Archduke Franz Ferdinand — the shot that started the First World War. The Sarajevo Museum 1878–1918 stands next door, and the embankment offers the best view of the bridge's arch, quietest in the morning.
