A poignant World War II memorial situated on Breitscheidplatz in Berlin's Charlottenburg district. The shattered western spire of the late 19th-century Neo-Romanesque church was deliberately preserved in ruins as an anti-war monument, known locally as the Hollow Tooth. Beside the ruin stands Egon Eiermann's modernist octagonal chapel, enveloped by over twenty thousand glowing midnight-blue stained-glass facets.
