Jarun

Jarun is Zagreb's great green escape for recreation, an artificial lake surrounded by a chain of green islands, perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities, as well as the venue for the INmusic festival in June. We discovered Lake Jarun thanks to our friendly taxi driver, who spoke so highly of it and recommended it so enthusiastically that we added it to our list of the best things to do in Zagreb. Located 6 km from the city center in the southwestern part of Zagreb, the lake is a big hit with locals and tourists who know about it. It is an artificial lake connected to the Sava River, originally developed to host the 1987 World University Games.
