A peaceful Victorian garden in central Dublin known as the city's secret garden, tucked among buildings just minutes from St Stephen's Green. Landscape gardener Ninian Niven laid out the grounds in the 1860s, and the cascade fountain, rosarium, yew maze and tree-ringed lawns survive to this day. Entry is free from Clonmel Street or Hatch Street. Unlike busy St Stephen's Green it rarely feels crowded — a quiet retreat in the heart of town.
