A pedestrian boulevard-square in the heart of Bratislava, running from the Slovak National Theatre down towards the Danube. A statue of the poet Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav stands at its centre, with fountains, rows of trees, cafés and embassies along the sides. It is the city's unofficial meeting point: students, wedding photos, Christmas markets in winter. The 1886 neo-renaissance theatre building sets the tone with its facade of sculpted muses.
