A city gallery on Parnell Square, founded by collector Hugh Lane in 1908 and considered the world's first public gallery of modern art. Since 1933 it has occupied Charlemont House, an 18th-century mansion. The collection includes Manet, Degas, Harry Clarke's stained glass and Irish painting, among it Jack B. Yeats. The star exhibit is Francis Bacon's studio, moved from London and reconstructed item by item. Admission is free.
