Serbia's foremost historical institution, situated on Nikola Pašić Square in central Belgrade. Established in 1963, the museum chronicles the journey of the Serbian state and its people from the medieval Nemanjić dynasty through Ottoman rule, the World Wars, and into the modern era. Its halls showcase Serbian royal insignia, regalia of the Obrenović and Karađorđević dynasties, historic battle flags, and weapons.
