Standing on historic Ba Dinh Square where Vietnamese independence was declared in 1945, this austere granite monument serves as the final resting place of revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh. Inspired by Lenin's tomb with distinct Vietnamese motifs, it features massive colonnades and solemn honor guards. Inside the cooled central chamber, visitors file respectfully past the glass sarcophagus containing the embalmed body of Uncle Ho.
