Hanoi's cathedral, consecrated in 1886 under French colonial rule and modelled on Notre-Dame de Paris: paired Gothic towers with a clock, stained glass and a weathered brick facade. It is a working church with daily masses, busiest on Sundays. In front lies a square with cafes and street food, a favourite evening hangout of the neighbourhood.
