Perched beside Hoan Kiem Lake, this famed theater preserves Vietnam's ancient water puppetry tradition, created by Red River Delta farmers in the 11th century. Concealed behind a bamboo screen, puppeteers standing waist-deep in water manipulate lacquered wooden figures using submerged rods and strings. Vibrant performances are accompanied by a live cheo orchestra, retelling folk legends, harvest rituals, and tales of fire-breathing dragons.
