A triangular Spanish fort in downtown Cebu, the oldest fortification in the Philippines. Miguel López de Legazpi built the first wooden version in 1565; the stone walls took their present shape by 1738. It was the nucleus of the Spanish settlement, later served as barracks, and is now a small museum park with displays on colonial history. The ramparts give views over the port and Plaza Independencia.
