Among the landmark features of Europe Square are the astronomical clock and the monument to Medea, a Georgian woman from the myth of the Argonauts who, according to legend, helped the Greek hero Jason steal the Golden Fleece from the ancient kingdom of Colchis in Georgia. It is probably the most beautiful square in the city, surrounded by beautiful buildings, both traditional and modern. In the center of the paved square stands a fountain, perfect for cooling off during the hot summer months. The square is also home to the astronomical clock and the statue of Medea holding the Golden Fleece. The statue stands on a tall column and relates to the famous legend of the Georgian princess Medea, who helped Jason obtain the Golden Fleece.
