Sprawling along the shores of Lake Herăstrău in King Michael I Park, this celebrated open-air ethnographic museum was established in 1936 by sociologist Dimitrie Gusti. The park showcases more than 300 authentic rural structures relocated piece by piece from across Romania. Shaded pathways wind past steep-roofed wooden churches from Maramureș, historic thatch-roofed farmhouses, traditional windmills, and authentic water-powered grain mills.
