Commissioned by the Brotherhood of the Clerics, this landmark Baroque church was designed by Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni and completed in 1748. Standing on a sloping hill in Porto, the church is noted for its distinctive elliptical nave, ornate granite facade embellished with Rococo carvings, and a stunning polychrome marble retable. The building connects directly to the famed 75-meter bell tower that defines the city skyline.
