Christ Church Cathedral

Other≈ 1 h969 m from the center

This magnificent cathedral was founded in 1030 as a wooden Viking church. Although Romanesque and Gothic elements were added in subsequent centuries, Christ Church Cathedral underwent a major reconstruction during the Victorian era. A standard ticket includes a self-guided tour of the cathedral, the crypt (one of the largest in the British Isles), and the "Treasures of Christ Church" exhibition. Nestled in the Viking quarter, Christchurch is one of Ireland most historical and sacred place for tourists to visit. Just a little over 1100 steps from the Arthaus, this walk will take you about 10 minutes and meanders past some of the other tourist attractions on our list. The cathedral is an architectural masterpiece and still works to this day.
