One of the city's main arteries, Calea Victoriei, is lined with beautifully restored buildings, museums, and memorial houses, reminiscent of the boulevards of Paris. It is a sign of the street's history and prestige that many of the attractions and monuments in this list are located along its route. Starting from Revolution Square in the north, Calea Victoriei continues down to the Dâmbovița River, and after a period of stagnation during the socialist republic, it is a luxurious shopping and entertainment street, marked by cafés, fashion boutiques, restaurants, cultural institutions, and art galleries. These are mostly located on the southern side, while the northern areas are reserved for stately residences.
