A neo-Gothic mausoleum erected in 1879 within the Jardin des Alpes along the shores of Lake Geneva. Duke Charles II of Brunswick bequeathed his immense fortune to the city of Geneva on condition that an ornate tomb be built for him, modeled after the Scaliger Tombs in Verona. Architect Jean Franel crafted a magnificent marble canopy topped by an equestrian statue, offering sweeping views across the lake and the Jet d'Eau fountain.
