The highest and most scenic waterfall in the Vitosha mountain range, located just outside Sofia on the Boyana River. The cascade plunges roughly 25 metres down a sheer granite cliff surrounded by dense beech forest. Marked hiking trails lead up from the historic Boyana Church, and the falls are particularly dramatic during spring snowmelt when the water flows at peak volume.
