The museum on Doi Can Street is devoted to the 'air battle of Hanoi' of December 1972, when American bombers struck the city for twelve consecutive nights. In the yard stand genuine wreckage of a downed B-52 bomber, a surface-to-air missile and a fighter jet; inside are photographs, documents and personal items of pilots and air-defence crews. The display is modestly styled but powerful. Mind the lunchtime closure.
