The Asian arts museum opened in 1998 in Phoenix Park: Kenzo Tange's white cube, the architect's final work, floats above a lake. The collection follows Buddhist art from India to Japan — Chinese porcelain, Japanese samurai swords, Tibetan thangkas and ceremonial objects — with concerts and tea ceremonies in the programme. Entry to the museum is free; only guided tours are charged.
