Karl Friedrich Schinkel's neoclassical masterpiece of 1830, with its loggia of 18 Ionic columns, is the oldest building on Museum Island. It presents the Antiquity collection: Greek vases, Etruscan bronzes, Roman portraits of emperors and silver treasure, arranged around a rotunda modelled on the Pantheon.
