Musée des arts de la marionnette - Gadagne

Museum4.3 · 1 6854 · 37≈ 2 hEntry: ~8 €

After a decade-long restoration, the puppet arts museum reopened in 2025 inside the Renaissance mansion of Gadagne in the heart of Vieux-Lyon. Its heart is Guignol, the puppet invented by Lyon dentist Laurent Mourguet around 1808: hundreds of figures from around the world, stage scenes and theatre secrets. The same ticket covers the Museum of Lyon History in the same building; a terrace on top looks over the rooftops.

Highlights

  • Guignol, Lyon's puppet since 1808
  • Hundreds of puppets worldwide
  • Renaissance mansion of Gadagne
  • One ticket covers both museums
