Pasha’s Gardens

Sight4.4 · 1 8083.7 · 19≈ 30 minFree entry1.3 km from the center

An enigmatic stone garden on the slopes of the Upper Town (Ano Poli), created in the late Ottoman era as a private park with fountains, water channels and arched bridges. Over time the place fell into decay and gathered legends — from Masonic symbols to a 'garden of snakes' — but its core appeal is unchanged: semi-ruined romance and shade above the stifling summer city. You climb up to it on foot through Ano Poli lanes.

Highlights

  • Ottoman-era stone fountains and bridges
  • Semi-abandoned romance of Ano Poli
  • Shade and bay views on the climb up
