In the southwestern suburb of Kalamaria, visitors will discover numerous beautiful villas and mansions of the 19th century. Many of these villas were designed by Italian architects in the neoclassical style. Of particular historical interest is the Allatini Villa, created by the Italian architect Vitaliano Poselli in 1896. The beautiful historic gardens surrounding the Allatini Villa are open to visitors. From 1926, the Allatini Villa served as the new university building, and today it houses the offices of the regional center of North Macedonia.
