The famous, rather pensive statue of Dante, looking like a lost tourist, stands on Piazza dei Signori, where he lived from 1312 to 1318 in the house of Cangrande. The Loggia del Consiglio (Lodge of the Council) is a former city council building located on Piazza dei Signori. In front of it stands a statue of a man named Dante (Statua di Dante Alighieri). You may have heard of this guy in high school, when you read his famous work, the Divine Comedy.
