Its centerpiece is the iconic Phoenix Hall (Amida-do), mirrored in a serene pond and featured on Japan's 10-yen coin. The hall enshrines a National Treasure seated Amida Buddha carved by master Jocho, while the modern subterranean Hoshokan Museum displays original roof-mounted bronze phoenixes and painted temple bells.
