Museum4.7 · 5 5994.6 · 754≈ 1 h 15 minEntry: ~15 €3.7 km from the center

A branch of the Capitoline Museums inside Rome's first power station (1912): ancient statues, mosaics and reliefs stand among diesel engines and steam turbines. The contrast of marble against industrial steel makes it one of the city's most photogenic museums. Conceived as a temporary display in 1997, it proved so popular it became permanent. It lies south of the centre on Via Ostiense, near the Garbatella metro stop.

  • Classical statues among turbines and diesels
