A square at the corner of the Reeperbahn and Große Freiheit in St. Pauli, opened in 2008 in honour of the Beatles' Hamburg years. The band played Reeperbahn clubs in 1960–1962, honing their set in marathon night sessions. Five stainless-steel figures — John, Paul, George, Ringo and Stuart Sutcliffe — stand on a round platform styled like a record. By night the square merges into the Reeperbahn's din of music, bars and crowds.
