The Heritage of Cebu Monument on Plaza Parian is a dramatic multi-figure tableau by acclaimed Filipino sculptor Eduardo Castrillo, unveiled in 2000. Crafted from concrete, bronze, brass, and steel, it captures five centuries of island history, from the 1521 Battle of Mactan and chieftain Lapu-Lapu to Magellan's Cross, the Basilica del Santo Niño, and the beatification of Pedro Calungsod.
