One of Europe's largest enclosed recreational capital parks, covering over 1,750 acres just west of Dublin city centre. Established in 1662 as a royal deer-hunting park by the Duke of Ormond, it still hosts a wild herd of fallow deer roaming freely through its meadows. Landmarks within the perimeter include Áras an Uachtaráin (the President's official residence) and the 62-metre Wellington Monument obelisk.

Highlights

  • Free-roaming wild fallow deer herd grazing across meadows
  • Áras an Uachtaráin, the official residence of the Irish President
