One of Chiang Mai's oldest temples, first mentioned in the 14th century just north of the old city, and the resting place of several Mengrai-dynasty kings. Its profile is unmistakable: a massive brick chedi in Lanna style beside a wooden viharn with carved gables, rebuilt in the early 2000s. Quieter than the temples inside the walls, it feels like a working monastery set in a garden; dress modestly as in any Thai temple.
