Barcelona's city history museum, housed in the 16th-century Palau Padellas, moved stone by stone into the Gothic Quarter in 1931. The highlight lies underground: the Roman city of Barcino with streets, a laundry, a garum factory and stretches of city wall over which the medieval quarter later grew. The route ends at the royal Tinell hall on the Placa del Rei.
