A 12-sided watchtower on the bank of the Guadalquivir River, erected by the Almohad Caliphate around 1220 to guard Seville's harbour. A heavy iron chain once stretched across the water to block hostile vessels. Today the tower houses a compact Naval Museum showcasing historic charts and models of Columbus's ships, while the rooftop offers panoramic views of the river and Triana district. Entry is free on Mondays.
