Jewish Cemetery Lido

Sight3.8 · 83.9 · 16≈ 20 min

The Jewish community in Venice received its first opportunity to establish its own cemetery in 1386, which attests to the long history of Jews in the city. The cemetery is located near the Church of San Nicolò, in the north. Today, the Ancient Jewish Cemetery can only be visited by prior appointment. If you can't stay put on your beach towel, you can also walk to the Faro di San Nicolò, visit the old Jewish cemetery, or watch a show at the planetarium. The island has plenty of hotels and restaurants, so staying overnight and eating well here is no problem. The southernmost path will let you spend your energy on the golf course or explore a military defensive point.
