A memorial on the edge of Sarajevo by the airport: in 1993 a tunnel about 800 metres long was dug by hand beneath the runway — the besieged city's only link to the outside world, through which food, weapons and people moved. The museum in the Kolar family house shows wartime footage and artefacts before you enter 25 metres of authentic tunnel plus a rebuilt section. Allow 20–30 minutes by taxi from the centre.
