The Art Pavilion on King Tomislav Square is the oldest purpose-built gallery in Southeast Europe and an icon of Zagreb's Green Horseshoe park belt. Built in 1898, its prefabricated iron framework was first showcased at the Millennium Exhibition in Budapest before being moved to Zagreb and encased in an ornate yellow Art Nouveau facade designed by Fellner & Helmer. The hall hosts prestigious temporary art exhibitions from around the world.
