A sprawling public garden in the heart of Jaipur, laid out in 1868 under Maharaja Ram Singh II as a famine-relief public works project. The Indo-Saracenic Albert Hall Museum stands at its centre, ringed by lawns, sports grounds and shady avenues. Entry to the garden is free, while the museum is ticketed. The best times are early morning, when locals practise yoga in cooler air, or the evening, when families fill the paths.
