Kuala Lumpur Railway Station

Sight4.2 · 826≈ 20 min

No longer Kuala Lumpur's main railway station, having been replaced by the more modern KL Sentral, come to Kuala Lumpur Railway Station to see the railway museum housed in an example of classic British and Asian architecture. Built during the period of British colonial rule and completed in 1886, the museum is a mix of European and Asian styles and now displays antique exhibits in the Grand Hall, such as fire engines and steam locomotives. There are also models and replicas of trains and carriages, and visitors can stroll along the platforms and learn about the history of the locomotive in Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur Railway Station is a striking example of architecture and an important transport hub in the heart of the city. This historic building, designed in a unique blend of Eastern and Western architectural styles, was completed in the early 20th century and served as Kuala Lumpur's main railway station until the opening of KL Sentral. Today it continues to function as a railway station, as well as standing as a monument to Malaysia's colonial past and its transition to modernity.
