The oldest surviving religious sanctuary in Bucharest, constructed around 1559 by Prince Mircea the Shepherd as the chapel of the Old Princely Court. For two centuries, this historic temple served as the official coronation site for Wallachian rulers. Its exterior displays traditional post-Byzantine masonry featuring alternating stripes of red brick and light plaster, while the interior houses a revered icon of Saint Anthony.
