The Istanbul Toy Museum on the city's Asian side was opened in 2005 by writer Sunay Akin. A mansion in Goztepe holds thousands of exhibits from around the world: tin robots, dolls, little trains and an 1817 violin toy considered the oldest piece. Each display is staged as a scene with a legend invented by the owner, so the museum reads like a book of short stories. There is a corner where you can write a postcard and mail it to yourself.
