A historic oasis in the heart of Manila, originally built in the 1820s as a Spanish municipal cemetery. The site is famous as the secret burial ground of national hero José Rizal following his execution in 1896. Today it is a peaceful park enclosed by concentric circular stone walls with burial niches, shaded by ancient acacia trees and anchored by the domed St. Pancratius Chapel, a popular venue for classical concerts and weddings.
