Sofia's oldest and best-loved public park, established in 1884 and named after Tsar Boris III. Designed across decades by Swiss, French, and Bulgarian landscapers, it blends manicured flower beds with wild, shaded oak and chestnut woodland. At the park's threshold lies Ariana Lake, complete with seasonal paddle boats and cafes. Further inside are quiet rose gardens, statues of national heroes, and the Brother's Mound monument.

Highlights

  • Lake Ariana offering summer pedal boating and lakeside terraces
  • Fragrant rose garden surrounded by centuries-old oak and chestnut trees
  • Monuments and commemorative busts honoring Bulgarian cultural heroes
