The complex where Ming and Qing emperors prayed for good harvests in solemn annual rites. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is a circular wooden masterpiece raised in 1420 and rebuilt after an 1889 fire. The vast surrounding park fills with locals playing chess and dancing, while the three-tiered Circular Mound Altar and Echo Wall anchor the southern axis. A UNESCO site since 1998.
