The Russian church on Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard in central Sofia, built in 1907-1914 to a design by architect Mikhail Preobrazhensky. Gilded domes and glazed tiles stand out among Sofia's buildings. In the crypt lies Archbishop Seraphim Sobolev, a locally venerated bishop: visitors leave notes with requests at his tomb. The church is active, with services in Church Slavonic; entry is free and women should cover their heads.
