One of Europe's largest cemeteries, opened in 1874. Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Johann Strauss and Falco lie here, while Mozart has a memorial cenotaph. The Viennese euphemism 'taking the 71' refers to the tram that leads to its gates. A vast, quiet park of sculptural tombstones centred on the Art Nouveau domed church of St Charles Borromeo.
