Verona's cathedral complex rose in Romanesque style after the 1117 earthquake; the portal sculpture is attributed to the master Nicholaus. The high altar is graced by Titian's Assumption, with 15th-century frescoes nearby. A single ticket covers the whole complex: the San Giovanni in Fonte baptistery with its carved Romanesque font, the church of Sant'Elena and the canons' library. The cathedral remains in use, so visits stay quiet in season.
