A baroque palazzo on the Grand Canal, now the museum of 18th-century Venice. Baldassare Longhena began it in 1649 and Giorgio Massari completed it in the 1750s for the Rezzonico family. Inside are state rooms with Tiepolo frescoes, paintings by Canaletto, Guardi and Pietro Longhi, and furnished interiors of Venetian nobility. The poet Robert Browning, who rented apartments here, died on the piano nobile in 1889.
