Dating to the 13th century in Valencia's historic El Carmen neighborhood, this Gothic parish church earned fame as the 'Valencian Sistine Chapel'. Beneath its ribbed vaults lies an astonishing 2,000 square meters of vibrant Baroque frescoes painted in the late 17th century by Dionís Vidal following designs by Antonio Palomino. The lavish murals cover every vault with dynamic scenes illustrating the lives of its two patron saints.
