An extraordinary Bahá í House of Worship in New Delhi, completed in 1986 to the design of Iranian-Canadian architect Fariborz Sahba. Shaped like a blooming lotus flower, the structure consists of 27 freestanding petals arranged in clusters, clad in pristine white Greek Pentelikon marble. Open to people of all religious faiths, the cavernous hall maintains serene silence amidst gardens and nine ponds.
