The Brussels City Museum fills the King's House on Grand-Place, though no king ever lived there — the neo-Gothic palace went up in 1873 to Victor Jamaer's design. Exhibits trace the city from medieval marshes to world's fairs: tapestries, medieval sculpture, guild silver and old maps. The star is the wardrobe of Manneken Pis — over a thousand costumes gifted by celebrities and nations.
